Temple Israel is a “beit midrash,” a house of learning, offering religious education to generations of Jewish families since 1905.

Much has changed since the founders of Temple Israel hired their first religious leader, Harry Liberson, who not only led the religious school but also served as the local “mohel” and Kosher butcher.

Today, Temple Israel provides a variety of contemporary, educational offerings for all ages—from Hebrew, Torah studies and current affairs to Judaic arts. Rabba Kaya Stern-Kaufman, like Harry Liberson, teaches classes and lectures, and she also leads a dedicated team of enthusiastic teachers and administrators heading up our Early Learning Center Preschool, Religious School, as well as many exciting adult learning opportunities.

We welcome you to explore and join our community of lifelong Jewish learners. Contact Heather Tomlinson, our administrative director, at 603-436-5301 ext. 10 or by email. She’ll be happy to answer your questions, connect you with the appropriate school administrator, or enroll you in an upcoming class.
