Our Hebrew School is more than a place to learn—it’s a vibrant, welcoming community where students grow into their Jewish identities through creativity, connection, and curiosity. Through our hands-on, Project-Based Learning approach, students don’t just study Jewish life—they experience it. Whether building a model sukkah, creating a family tree rooted in Torah stories, or launching a classroom tzedakah project, learning is active, meaningful, and fun.
We believe that every student deserves a Hebrew learning experience that meets them right where they are. That’s why our Hebrew program is based on skill level rather than grade level, creating small, focused groups where students can thrive at their own pace.
Using the immersive and playful Hebrew Through Movement method, students learn modern Hebrew vocabulary through active, kinesthetic engagement. We also use our innovative Hebrew Lightning Round model—a fast-paced, one-hour Hebrew block divided into short, engaging rotations that focus on:
This structure prevents boredom, builds momentum, and helps students feel successful every step of the way.
Kindergarten – 1st Grade: Joyful Beginnings
Young learners explore Jewish holidays, Torah stories, and foundational Hebrew through music, storytelling, and movement. Learning is joyful, imaginative, and sensory-based.
2nd Grade: Jewish Building Blocks
Students develop their understanding of Jewish values like tzedakah (justice) and chesed (kindness), while continuing to build Hebrew vocabulary and letter recognition with movement-based learning.
3rd Grade: Roots & Rituals
Students begin to decode Hebrew and explore the meaning behind Jewish holidays and rituals. Projects bring Torah stories and family traditions to life. Hebrew Lightning Round is introduced to support focused skill development.
4th Grade: Peoplehood & Practice
Fourth graders explore Jewish history and mitzvot, including the significance of Israel. Hebrew learning shifts toward reading fluency and prayer literacy.
5th Grade: Responsibility & Reflection
Through ethical dilemmas and classroom debates, students explore Jewish values in real-world scenarios. They continue advancing in Hebrew with an emphasis on prayer comprehension and connection.
6th Grade: Identity & Inquiry
Students dive into Jewish lifecycle events and begin reflecting on their role within Jewish tradition. Hebrew practice becomes more targeted, supporting growing fluency and meaning-making.
7th Grade: Leadership & Legacy
In their final year, students prepare for B’nai Mitzvah and take the lead in exploring Jewish history, identity, and social justice. Hebrew study is individualized to meet each student’s goals and prayer needs.
