Celebrate Purim 2026 at Temple Israel Portsmouth!

Celebrate Purim at Temple Israel Portsmouth!

Purim is almost here, and Temple Israel Portsmouth is ready to celebrate with two exciting events that bring the story of Esther to life through music, laughter, and community.

Erev Purim Celebration – Monday, March 2 | 6:30–8:00 PM | Sanctuary

Kick off Purim in costume—the wilder, the better! Enjoy “The Megillah of Oz,” a spirited Purim spiel performed by our TIP youth, and join in with groggers to cheer Esther and boo Haman. Hear the Megillat Esther chanted in Hebrew, explore a playful “SINGLISH” interpretive Megillah, and savor hamentashen baked by our Sisterhood.

Pizza and salad will be available in the Social Hall, 5:45-6:15. Register today!

Purim Carnival – Sunday, March 8 | 10:00 AM–12:00 noon | Levenson Social Hall

Bring the whole family for a morning of fun games, playful activities, and prizes for the best costumes! TIP youth will perform “The Megillah of Oz” again, and fresh hamentashen will be available for everyone to enjoy.

RSVP Required-To ensure a safe and joyful experience for all, RSVP is required for both events. Please contact the Temple Israel office to reserve your spot.

Purim is a celebration of courage, creativity, and community. Come join us as we share in the joy, the story, and the spirit of this special holiday at Temple Israel!
