November Hebrew School Happenings

Written by: Erik Martin

Please keep these dates on your calendar for upcoming special programs and events connected to the Hebrew School.

Hebrew School Fire Drill

Wednesday, November 1st

The school will be conducting a fire drill coordinated with the Portsmouth Fire Department this month. Students will be told ahead of time that this is only a drill. It is important for all of our students and staff to be familiar with the steps we take as a school to stay safe in an emergency.

Elana Arian Shabbat

Saturday, November 11th

Please join us for a very special musical Shabbat with Artist-in-Residence Elana Arian, an internationally known performer and composer. Elana will be working with our students on a special song to sing in the service that you won’t want to miss!

Catered kiddush luncheon follows the service.

Holiday Card Challenge

Wednesday, November 8th

Students will take part in the “Holiday Card Challenge,” in partnership with Holiday Cards 4 Our Military Challenge, making Hanukkah and cards of appreciation that will be sent to American servicemen and women all around the globe.

In response to the recent crisis in Israel, the organization is also collecting Hanukkah cards and letters of support to send to Israeli soldiers.

Parents are welcome to participate! Materials will be available in the Court Street lobby for adults to write cards too. Please join us for this fun and worthy event.

Thanksgiving Break!
Wednesday, November 22nd
Saturday, November 25th

Just a reminder that Hebrew School will not be meeting on the 22nd or 25th in observation of Thanksgiving. Have a great break!

Sincerely,
