Jewish tradition gives us this month as a period of preparation for entering into the High Holidays with awareness and motivation. To engage all of our senses in this process of restoration, TIP is offering a series of events throughout the month of Elul to nourish body, mind, heart, and spirit.

As we approach the High Holidays, we honor our departed loved ones with prayers and private reflection. No registration required.

Please join us for an interfaith community-wide gathering at the African Burying Ground on Chestnut Street in Portsmouth. Offerings of prayer, poetry, music, and Selichot liturgy will address the spiritual aspiration to recognize the Divine Image in every human being.

A celebration of Jewish community for the whole family, featuring falafel lunch, live music by Kol Kahol (Jewish bluegrass), games, prizes, ice cream, tours of Shapiro House, shofar blowing workshop. The month of Elul is considered the birthday of the animals, so bring a photo or drawing of your pets, or dress as your favorite animal. Rabba Kaya will do a special blessing of the animals.
