Temple Israel is a founding partner in Seacoast Family Promise, a program for families experiencing homelessness that relies on a network of 22 local faith communities to provide meals and overnight support. Volunteers prepare and serve meals or stay overnight, while giving their friendship to families rebuilding their lives to achieve stable housing and employment.
Temple Israel volunteers partner with those from First United Methodist Church on Miller Ave. in Portsmouth, which is where the meals are served and guests and hosts stay overnight.
To learn more about volunteering, please contact Rachel Dennis (directly or through the temple office at templeoffice@templeisraelnh.
